PhDr. Petr Kaniok, Ph.D.

In 2006 he completed his doctoral studies program in political science at the Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University, and is at present an assistant professor at the Department of International Relations and European Studies at that faculty. He also serves as assistant professor at the Institute for Comparative Political Research at the FSS MU. In the past he has served at the Institute for International Political Studies at MU as an academic assistant and project director.

His long-term research concentrations are Euroskepticism, the chairmanship of the EU Council, EU institutions, the EU political system, and political systems in the Scandinavian countries. He edited the volume Česká politika v Evropské unii: Evropský integrační proces a zájmy České republiky [Czech Policy in the European Union: The European integration process and the interests of the Czech Republic] (with Vít Dočkal, Petr Fiala, and Markéta Pitrová) and the volume Euroskepticismus a země střední a východní Evropy [Euroskepticism and the Countries of Central and Eastern Europe] (with Vlastimil Havlík). He has written a number of academic and educational texts.
