Incoming Students – Erasmus programme

Department of International Relations and European Studies welcomes international students who have decided to spend part of their studies in Brno. We believe that exchange students can help us create a truly international, friendly and stimulating study atmosphere. Following overview should help you to find out what course choice you can expect and what the conditions of enrollment are.

Course information

Courses taught in English (Autumn 2011) – a list of courses taught at the Faculty of Social Studies in the autumn semester 2011.

Courses taught in English (Spring 2012) – courses taught in the spring semester. Note that only some of the courses listed here are taught on a regular basis. The list can, however, give you a general idea about what to expect.

MA programme European Politics – our English MA programme. Provided you are a graduate student or at least a third year undergraduate you may enroll into any of the courses listed.

While choosing courses you should follow these rules:

  1. At least 50 % of courses you intend to study in Brno and state them in your Learning Agreement have to be those given by Department of IR and European Studies and/or Department of Political Science. When checking what courses are available, please note that eligible courses are those beginning with codes EUP, EVS, MVZ, BSS and POL. So for example if you intend to study six courses here, at least three of them should be selected from this offer. In all cases, we are able to guarantee you will be enrolled in these courses.
  2. Consequently, the other half of courses may be selected from the course offer of other departments of our Faculty (e.g. Sociology, Psychology etc.) As a rule, you will be enrolled into courses you select.
  3. There is also a possibility to choose courses in English given by any other faculty of Masaryk University. However, if you decide so please bear in mind that we cannot guarantee you will be actually enrolled, as only teachers of these courses can decide about your enrollment.
